One Peak at a Time: How to Release Your Psoas & Hip Flexors

One Peak at a Time: How to Release Your Psoas & Hip Flexors

If you've ever felt tightness deep in your hip, lower back pain that won't quit, or that nagging pull at the front of your pelvis — your psoas muscle is likely the culprit. And the PSO-RITE® was designed specifically to reach it.

But here's the most important thing most people get wrong: use one peak at a time.

Why One Peak?

The PSO-RITE has two peaks, but the psoas and iliacus are deep, targeted muscles. Using both peaks at once spreads the pressure too broadly and reduces effectiveness. One peak = focused, therapeutic pressure exactly where you need it.

Finding the Right Spot

Place one peak between your belly button and the inside edge of your hip bone (pelvis). That's your starting position for the psoas. For the iliacus, rotate the tool slightly so the peak follows the inside curve of your pelvic bone.

Tip: Everyone's anatomy is slightly different. Move slowly and let tenderness guide you to the right spot.

How to Use It

  1. Position the peak — Place one peak on the target area. Support your weight on your forearms and knees.
  2. Breathe and lower in — Take a deep breath in. As you exhale, slowly lower your body onto the peak. Let gravity do the work — don't force it.
  3. Hold for 30–60 seconds — Stay relaxed. Keep breathing. You should feel firm pressure, not sharp pain.

  1. Rock side to side — Gently shift your body left and right over the peak. Small movements. The tool stays still; your body moves.

Remember: Firm pressure is normal. Sharp or intense pain means ease off. Always listen to your body.

How Often?

Start with 1–2 minutes per side, once daily. As your tissue adapts, you can increase to 2–3 minutes. Consistency beats intensity — a short daily session beats an occasional long one. Feel free to
